Exosomes are important vehicles of systemic communication within the organisms in multiple physiologic and pathologic contexts. Since Diabetes is a systemic pathology, we are fascinated in elucidating the cross-talk between gut and liver, contributing to an inflammatory niche in the liver, and thus affecting insulin metabolism and action for peripheral tissues as well as dysglycemia and dyslipidemia ultimately leading to the manifestation of the pathology.
